Animated movies.

Hello again,

A couple of entries ago, I mentioned a little about movies. Well, I was just watching videos on youTube randomly and I found this.

It is an animated movie called, "Escape from Planet Earth" that is coming out soon. I've seen negative comments surrounding this movie but I disagree. From a wizard's point of view, I look at it as a type of feel good movie catered to muggle families or muggles feeling a little under the weather.

It did come as a shock, finding out that there are muggles out there who would rate movies without looking at it or giving it a chance. Perhaps, this is another form of muggle interaction or thought process that I have yet to discover. Well, seems like there are some differences between magical and non-magical folk. Anyway, I am quite excited for this movie to premiere. Seems like a rather fun, feel good movie, that provides a little escape from the everyday stress of life. Hey, even Hogwarts professors are stressed.

Which reminds me, there is another animated movie that will be coming out soon. It's called "Monsters University". It's apparently a prequel to the animated movie "Monsters Inc." but just by watching the trailer, it seems to indicate a rather accurate portrayal of college life for young muggles.

I have to admit, that prank, was pure genius and something Peeves would have thought of. I am so glad Peeves is not allowed into the muggle world. The improper use of magic office would have an immensely huge headache clearing up his mess. This seems like another one of those fun, feel good, forget the day's worries type of movie.

Also, I am aware that the characters in these movies are not actual muggles but a representation of a generic muggle. After all, muggles do not believe that there are monsters and aliens in this world right? I do find it rather intriguing that the muggles creating these stories are choosing to portray muggle behavior with unfamiliar species. Perhaps they are magical folk, trying to slowly integrate the communities! Wait, I would have heard of this if something like that is going on.

Oh wells, it's not really in my job scope. I am just here to observe, take notes and report my findings.

As always, leave me a comment and let me know what you think, or just say hi!

Farewell,
Lord Severus

Happy Chinese New Year!

Hello again,

I have just found out that it is Chinese New Year for muggles and magical folk alike, so I would like to wish all of you a Happy Chinese New Year, many blessings, abundance of health and happiness.

It is the year of the snake! Which means, this is Slytherin's year! I can't believe we have a whole year. The cherry on the cake would be for us to win the House Cup this year again. That would be amazing.

Anyway, this is a short entry filled with best wishes for everyone, muggles and magical folks alike.

As always, leave me a comment and let me know what you think, or just say hi!

Farewell,
Lord Severus

Quite curious.

Hello again,

Some updates on the Hogwarts side of things, it's been going great. The students are much better ever since they have gotten into the rhythm of school. I've returned the first assignments and have collected the second one for marking. I am thinking of planning a few out of school trips as well although that would prove to be quite a handful considering the Slytherin students. Detention doesn't seem to be working for them.

Enough about boring school stuff. I have just downloaded a game called Governor of Poker. You choose whether you want to play as a lady or a gentleman and the goal of the game is to win at poker. I suppose you take over towns by winning a lot of money and you get to travel to other towns. I haven't started playing it yet. I am still reading up on the rules of the game but it seems like muggles love playing poker.

There are buildings called Casinos where muggles gamble. They play many different kinds of gambling games and poker is one of them. To avoid leaking the existence of the magical society, I felt that it was better for me to play a virtual game instead of going into a Casino, running the risk of getting too excited and using the summoning charm.

Anyway, I was talking to a fellow professor about muggles and the Twilight craze and she had some really interesting words to say. The character might be appealing to muggles because of the very fact that the character is so human, filled with flaws, unlike many other hero type characters. I do agree with this point and I am so glad I did have a chat with her about this. I'm not saying that I like the book now, I am just saying that I do see why some muggles might like it.

I would probably be getting a mobile phone the next time I visit the muggle world (which would be quite soon). Makes it easier to contact Hermione when I'm there too. I'm pretty excited though. It seems that I'm starting to get the hang of this technology stuff and my thirst for knowledge is ever growing. Absolutely thrilled to head into the muggle world. Can't wait!
