Happy Birthday J.K Rowling

Today is the birthday of our wonderful author who created the world of Harry Potter (thereby exposing the magical world to the muggles, although they still think it's fiction).

It's also Harry's birthday. I'm pretty sure that he is celebrating it with his family. Lovely children they've got. Knowing Harry, I've just sent him an owl with his birthday card, and no, I'm not going to reveal what I wrote on it.

Now, with all the birthday wishes taken care of, I have to say that revealing the magical community to the muggles through fiction books, is a stroke of genius. I wished that I had thought of that. I'm pretty sure Jo is either a witch or has family that are witches and wizards. Now it makes me wonder if I know them.

Anyways, just thought I should send some blessings to these two amazing people. Harry did grow up to be quite a dashing young man.

As always, leave me a comment and let me know what you think, or just say hi!

Happy Chinese New Year!

Hello again,

I have just found out that it is Chinese New Year for muggles and magical folk alike, so I would like to wish all of you a Happy Chinese New Year, many blessings, abundance of health and happiness.

It is the year of the snake! Which means, this is Slytherin's year! I can't believe we have a whole year. The cherry on the cake would be for us to win the House Cup this year again. That would be amazing.

Anyway, this is a short entry filled with best wishes for everyone, muggles and magical folks alike.

The New Year!

Hello again,

It is the start of a New Year and I wish everyone a very happy beginning and many more.

The experience of interacting with the muggles these past few days have been rather intriguing. They are really no different from magical folk! I have to start documenting some of these interactions (I am thinking of writing a book on this just to educate those magical folk with the pure blood mentality).

I suppose it is in one's nature to be proud of one's lineage, the muggles do have some fascinating history that is similar to the pure blood mentality, which resulted in war. But such topics shall be left to future entries.

The celebrations for the new year is almost as extravagant as Christmas! With fireworks exploding into the sky, the music blasting from those black things called speakers, the crowd dancing, strangers hugging and shaking hands. It does seem that any such major holidays tend to bond muggles together and that's something else that is similar to us, magical folk.

But as the saying goes, good things must come to an end. I'll be heading back to Hogwarts soon and leaving the muggle world behind, but rest assured, I'll be back as soon as I can. For now, I have got some packing to do and with that, I wish you all a very good year ahead, may the peace and joy fill your homes and the magic never cease!

It's Christmas!

Hello again,

It's Christmas day today and here is wishing all a merry Christmas and an enjoyable holiday!

Because it is the holidays, many of the students have gone home to celebrate with their families and very few remain behind in the school. I took the opportunity to go to the muggle world during the weekend to see what new things are happening.

So, first off, I realized that someone has been knowledgeable about hobbits and the lore behind them. A movie (which is something like our pictures except that it starts at a certain point, goes on telling the story for a few hours and then just stops) just came out about them. I have to say, it has represented the legend pretty well. Even the actor (a person that pretends to be someone else) that is depicting Gandalf looks very much like the real person. I have to bring a muggle picture (it doesn't move! Like the one below.) back to Middle Earth to show him.

Anyway, I have seen the movie and I must say it is pretty accurate to the likeness of the characters but there are some minor details that have been changed. Perhaps this form of story telling isn't told for accuracy but for the entertainment of muggles. It is rather interesting to learn that muggles seem to crave the imaginary and gain much satisfaction from going to one of these story sharing sessions called movies.

This is a highly recommended movie to watch, not only because it shows rather accurately the lands of Middle Earth, but the understanding of the events of lore is important for muggles to know about. It is a part of my history and I am proud that it is being shared to others. Bilbo would have loved to know that his story is being told to so many and I would travel to the Undying Lands if it wasn't somehow preventing apparation and access of port keys. It takes too long to travel by the ships and I would be missing some classes at Hogwarts (that's always bad). I give it 4 rings out of 5.

Before I leave, here is a video that I found to be rather entertaining (I've got to remember to ask Hermione what "shots" are). The Hobbit: An Unexpected Parody by the Hillywood Show.
Hope you magical folk and muggles enjoy!
